Hyderabad, July 7: Several prominent personalities representing all major
political parties attended the Iftar Dinner hosted by the All India Minorities
Forum here on Saturday evening.
Uttar Pradesh and
Uttarakhand Governor Shri Aziz Qureshi, Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Shri
Mahmood Ali, Home Minister Shri Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Congress MP Janab
Moualna Israr-ul-Haque Qasmi, BJP MP Shri Bandaru Dattatreyya, Ambassadors of
Turkey and Sudan, Counsel General of Iran and representatives of other
embassies, Deputy floor leader in Telangana Legislative Council Shri Mohammad
Ali Shabbir, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Palwai Govardhan Reddy, senior police
officials Shri Durga Prasad Reddy, Shri Amit Garg and Shri D Tirumal Rao,
Rashtriya Sahara Group Editor Shri Faisal Ali, AICC Spokesperson Shri M Afzal
and many other personalities from social and religious background attended the
Iftar Dinner hosted at Crystal Gardens here.
In his inaugural
speech, AIMF Secretary and Convener Jabir Patel said that the Iftar Dinner was
aimed at strengthening the ties between different communities and various
sections of the society. He said representatives of all political parties were
invited for the Iftar to convey the true message of holy month of Ramzan of
peace and brotherhood.
Addressing the
gathering, Kishanganj MP Moulana Israr-ul-Haque stressed the need to bring
about a positive change in the society. He called upon the Muslims to spread
the message of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) of eradication of all evils from the
society.
Secunderabad MP
Bandaru Dattatreyya praised the AIMF for inviting all sections of the society.
Iftar parties are part and parcel of Hyderabadi culture and they play a major
role in strengthening communal harmony and peace in the city.
Among those who
attended the Iftar dinner include MLC MS Prabhakar, former chairman of Urdu
Academy Syed Shah Noorul Haque Quadri, MBT Corporator Md Amjedullah Khan Khaled
and several senior journalists.
